How much should I tip my hair dresser?

I think I over tip. I have short hair and I get a color touch up and a trim. How much should I tip my hair dresser?
that is alot. but do whatever u want really. i usually do 3-5 but she isnt the bbestHow much should I tip my hair dresser?
That's a personal decision, imho... If you are making the check out to the salon, then tip 10 to 20 percent. Since she is employed by the salon. If you make the check out directly to the stylist, I don't see a need to tip. She is renting the station, there for self employed.
Tipping your hairdresser isn't really about how much it costs to have your hair done. It's more about the quality of the color and cut you receive. If your hairdresser consistently gives you what you are looking for and is friendly and personable, simply tip them more than you would tip someone else. I believe the universal tip is 15% of the bill, but like I said, if they are doing an excellent job, tip them a bit more.
well for me to decide if you over tip, how much do you tip?

stylist dont expect a tip so its nice when you give them one. but for shirt hair and a retouch and trim i would say about 5-7 dollars. esp. if they take the time to dry it and style it and talk to you about the products to use on it at home to keep it looking the way it does. mainly the tip is about how much time they spend with you and ho0w comfortable they make you feel and how the finished product looks. but if you feel you need to tip 0 or 100 do so. its completely up to you and your experience at the salon.
probably min. is 10% but if it looks real gud 15%
it depends on if they do a good job on ur hair. if they do $6 if they don't don't tip any.
On the one hand, I think tipping is ridiculous. People in the service industry are already getting paid an hourly rate and I'm probably being over charged for the product. I don't feel it's my responsibility to compensate what your paycheck lacks.

HOWEVER...the person who does my hair does more than just touch up and trim. She's been working with my hair for over a year now and does a great job. Comes up with things I would never think of. If I went somewhere else and had someone consulting with me on my hair style, I would pay much more than what I am charged. She could easily just cut and color what I want and keep her mouth shut about new ideas...but she doesn't. She seems to have fun with it actually...and I love it. So I tip her anywhere from $10-20.

If you think you over tip, though..give less.
拢3 ish.

pay enough already :L :)
