Help! Hair dresser needed for this Q! I need to know which hair dyes are non- permanent.?

I just bought L'oreal Natural Match and I dont know if I am going to completely like the color. It says no- ammonia but what the heck does that mean! Please help. Even if I like the color I dont want to grow it out and have half of my hair light brown and half dark brown. Please help!

This is a permanent hair color (if you look at drugstore.com it even says ';permanent'; on there) - meaning it won't just wash out over the next couple of weeks. While it doesn't contain ammonia, it still has enough other ingredients (for example peroxide) that will change your hair structure.

However, the good news is that it is only meant to accentuate your natural color, so the effect won't be that dramatic. It will add some reflections and shine, but you won't be able to go from light brown to completely dark with this.

So you'll either have to stick with a ';real'; permanent dye (preferably done at a salon) to go from light to dark brown, or simply go for a less dramatic change. In the latter case I'd recommend using a semi-permanent hair color. These do not contain ammonia nor peroxide, and will wash out after 6-12 shampoos.

Also read the link I'm adding, it'll really explain this well, probably better than I just did :)
