I told my mom i want to get a single purple streak in the back of my hair. Im not emo or anything im preppy and shes like, '' you'll have to bleack your hair, and then you'll have to keep dying it!'' You have to bleach your hair where you are going to have the streak so it is a solid color. If you don't,the dye may come out uneven and it wouldn't be a solid purple
There is temporary color. If you put it over your natural color it might just look like a purple tint or a little uneven. If you have blond/light hair it will probably look a lot better, if you have dark hair it will be much less noticeable, sort of like purple but only really visible in the sun.
You might as well try it with your natural color first. It might look a little weird or dullish but probably not too bad.
