They'll probably have to do a 2 step process - first bleach it, then re-dye it. If your hair is healthy/smooth, it shouldn't be a big deal. If you're hair is damaged (and I mean ';crunchy-damaged'; not just some fly-aways or a few split ends), they may have to do a couple of deep conditioning treatments during the process and you'll have to conitinue those at home until the hair grows out.

The hairdresser would find the colour very hard to lift if you have dyed it really dark, if you insist on making it lighter then they can put a stripper dye on they call it pre -pigment so that after the current colour has been lifted a lighter colour can then be added on the top. Or you could get highlights done and keep building them up with each visit unitl eventually you hair is alot lighter all over.
it will get lighter as u may wash it with shampoo and conditioner ...the rite ones would do well ... =)
