I want to grow out my dye as have had quite a bit of hair dye on it. it is natural light brown/dark blonde that goes blonder in summer.
just to let you know what had on my hair in past 2 years: i had it bleached blonde for a bit, then brown, then for quite a while had 3 diff colour blonde highlights put in,then i had it dark brown which i didn't like so had some blonde highlights in but the brown is fading so much it looks really orange.
i want it back to the natural colour but am not going to be able to let it just grow out as the colour is really ugly and not at all like my natural colour so will look horrendous as grows out!
it has been 11 weeks since did hair and planning on waiting another 4/5 weeks (if i can bear it!!) to get it dyed just before xmas. but the question is will it be possible for the hair dresser to dye the hair that has already been dyed (currently an orangey brown colour with some highlights) to my natural dark blonde/light brown, one all over dye BUT to leave my roots alone so i dont lose the growth i have gained in last 3 months?my hair is pretty long so think will take nearly 2 years to grow out! :( root growth is only about 3cm/1 1/4 inches at the moment.
thanks!! :)Want to dye hair out can the hair dresser dye my hair but leave the root growth?
omg i think i know you...how many sisters do u have? random but weird....!?!?!?!Want to dye hair out can the hair dresser dye my hair but leave the root growth?
It's actually possible for them to just strip the dye out of your hair (though it's really bad for your hair) so you could ask them if they could do that.
But yes, it's possible to dye over all of your hair and leave the roots alone. Just be specific with what you want.
Similar to you I messed around with my own hair (BIG MISTAKE!!) and actually just had it sorted out at the hairdressers a week ago.
I too am naturally light brown, and I had highlights. I decided to dye over it but I dyed over it a light red, then when i started to grow out I dyed it to dark red (i died it this colour twice when my roots grew out again!). Then I got bored of the red dyed over it dark brown thinking it would cover the red (it didn't!). I decided to go get it sorted out and I was completely honest with my hair dresser - I told her exactly what I had done and showing her my roots told her I wanted to get back to my normal colour (or as near as possible!) she said it wouldn't be a problem.
Together we chose the colour of hair nearest to my natural colour and she removed the red with all over highlights using the 'most gentle' lightning agent they had there (she said anything else would be too damaging). When they were washed out the stripped hair was bright yellow (terrifying!!) but she then put the toner onto my hair, the light brown I had chosen. My hair now looks fantastic. Even though technically half of my hair still has red in it you cannot see it at all. The hairdresser was superb and my hair is maybe just one shade darker than my natural colour. I'd advise just going and talking to someone about it - my whole head of highlights plus a wash cut and blow dry only cost 拢73.50 as they were running a 50% colour special (excellent price for central london salon, not to mention the 2 foot of hair they had to dye!) - all in all took about 3 and a half hours and I had about 6 inches cut off my hair.
A talented stylist will have no problems sorting your hair out - good luck :o)
AS LONG AS U FIND THE BEST HAIR STYLIST THERE IS IN UR TOWN.. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE GIRLFRIEND..
U ARE SPEAKING MY LANGUAGE CAUSE I RECENTLY GOT MY HAIR DYED.. MY GOAL WAS ASH WITH BLOND HIGHLIGHTS AND ITS ORANGEY-GOLD..
SO GROSE.. I GOT IT DONE LAST WK SO IM AFRAID IF I DYE IT TOO SOON I WILL KILL MY HAIR.
GO TO WWW.YELP.COM
SEARCH SALONS WITH GOOD RATINGS IN UR AREA.
SINCE I ALWAYS RESEARCH MY STYLISTS BEFORE HAND SO I FEEL SAFER.
BUT YES. IT IS POSSIBLE TO GO DARKER AGAIN AFTER ALL THAT
THEY WILL HAVE TO STRIP THE COLOR FIRST THEN PUT ANOTHER COLOR ON TOP.
GOOD LUCK! :)
