What to tell my hair dresser?

I'm getting my hair cut soon (today) and I don't know what to tell my hairdresser!





I want emo/scene hair with SPIKY, JAGGED layers. I also want lots and lots of layers.


my hair is pretty thin,





Shall I just tell her that? Or add something else?


I can't print a pic cuz I don't have a printer with as i'm in my grandmother's house.

Yes! Tell her that, just let it all out. Just make sure you can explain it with better vocabulary so she understands. The worst thing would be to not say enough and come out with the worse haircut, and if you're going for emo, that won't be good! You'll get a lot of critics! Just tell her the name of the person's haircut you're going for, maybe she'll know.


I mean, she's your hairdresser, she'll know what you mean and what suits you!

I'm sure she'll know somewhat what you're talking about since it's not exactly unheard of, especially where I live. I'm sure they'll have hairstyling magazines and I have a feeling one of the models will at least resemble the style you're looking for. I would show her the picture since most people are visual learners and say, 'but this instead...' or whatever. If all else fails, just tell her what you told us and guide her as she's cutting. That's what I do.
