Depends on the place. Most have fashion magazines that you can look for or giant books with literally THOUSANDS of pictures that focus specifically on hairstyle. I look through them when I'm getting my hair colored for hours on end :D Some places also make scrap books of specific hairstyles that they are personally good at cutting, like a chef's special... But with hair...Do the hair dressers have a book for you to choose what hair cut you want?
Some have magizines but you can also bring pictures of haristyles you like and they can do it for you
