Long ago in my youth in San Francisco--yes--there was a charming, motherly bull-dyke named Margie, who in her barber shop on lower Eddy Street cut all us fashionable young gentlemen's hair. We used to go in gaggles, not just for the haircuts which were excellent, but for her advice which was always sound and perceptive, and for the conversation which was brilliant. So yes, yes indeed.
