Is it necessary for me to tell my hair dresser,how I want my hair cut every time I go?(seeing her for 4yrs)?

It seems if I dont remind her that I dont wont it to touch my shoulders,she doesnt trim any off the bottom!Is it necessary for me to tell my hair dresser,how I want my hair cut every time I go?(seeing her for 4yrs)?
She may remember but she may want to make absolute sure that she cuts it like you like it. Because my favorite saying is you can cut more hair off but you can't glue it back on. She is just being on the safe side. I would give her some credit after all she does see alot of people in between vists. But if you want something different be sure to tell her. And then if she can't please you try something different. But give her a chance first. After all I would rather someone tell me so that's better than not telling her at all. She can't read your mind, and she can't assume that you want the same cut every time. You are far better off to communicate with her, because she has your hair in her hands, and can make a disaster for you.


I have the opposite problem, hairdressers who don't listen and don't do what I ask.
Well, you have ONE hairdresser and in order to survive your hairdresser has ONE MILLION girls who want their hair past their shoulders - no just above - no shaved, no half length etc. . . that despite how special and memorable you are she decides to ask you anyway.

Hair dressers see a lot of people everyday, She also might be hoping that in the last four years that she has been cutting your hair that one day you might live a little and do something different.
Well, if you want a different hairstyle, then yeh, if you do the same style, then you can remind her, but if she seems annoyed, leave it! :] Or just tel her something like, I will get what I usually get, or something. :]
No, its not necessary if you're getting the same cut everytime but if you want a different look then yes you must let her know.
I would tell her, if she seems not to remember who you are. I personally would not take a chance.

If she always forgets, it is neccesary. But if you are sick of telling her, just tell her everytime you come after that to give you the haircut you want. (Short long layered)
OMG...I have the same problem! I have been going to this fantastic gay-foreign hairdresser,I mean come on those are the characteristics of great hairdressers right? ;)...haha anyways and he always wants to do my hair some weird and ';unique'; way when he knows exactly how I want it. I think that our hairdressers either really want to change our look or maybe they just have so many clients that they don't remember specifics? Who knows, but yeah I totally feel your pain. But remember, a good hairdresser is like a really good pair of jeans...you don't let go of them!
yes cuz in hair dresser world when u say u want a trim it look like a short hat cut








if u want Ur hair in specific way then use Ur hands and show her the level u want it at
Bad hair dresser IMHO....I had one that only asked me to verify that I wanted it the same after the 3rd visit. I think she kept cheat cards, but thats what a good hairdresser should do.
YES it is normal i do that....maybe you should just remind her and tell her how you want it and bring a pic ture of it and show her...maybe she'll understand

if you get the same hair cut every time it is not nessisary, but if u dont get the same hair cut then it is nessisary to tell him/her. It depends!
Well, you shouldn't have to, but if she can't remember then I would keep telling her. Maybe you could say ';I just want what I usually get.'; Maybe she has trouble remembering or something?
