Ok so i have naturally dark brown hair, and i've gone blonde, but my hair is so dry and dull, i want to go back to my normal dark brown hair so i can leave it alone and not dye it for a while till it is healthy again, but someone told me if i dye my hair back to dark brown i have to lock the color in so it won't fade...how do i lock in the dark brown?Need Advice from a Professional hair dresser please!!!?
This technique is called ';filling it';. You would purchase a semi-permanent dark brown hair dye and apply it to your hair and just as soon as you apply it, then you want to apply the permanent color right on top of it. Process it the desired time, and rinse. This will allow the hair shaft to be filled with the needed colors so that the permanent color will stay on the hair.
Hope that helps ya!Need Advice from a Professional hair dresser please!!!?
Have you tried reconstructing your hair? Try using In-Depth, which can be found at Sally Beauty Supply: http://www.sallybeauty.com/Wella-In-Dept
If this doesn't make your hair more healthy, then I may suggest going back to natural. If you go back to natural though, this would be more damaging to your hair, anyway.
I've never heard of ';locking in'; a color, but using color-safe shampoos would be my recommendation.
