What should i say to the hair dresser? please answer this question! really need some help.?

I'm 13 years old and I'm going to get a hair cut soon, all my recent haircuts haven't been that good because i don't know how to explain what i want to the hair dressers, so far i have mid length plain black hair, but i want to get light brownish streaks, this is the style i want, look at the picture right at the bottom on the right hand side of this link, the picture of the girl with black hair and blonde streak's forget about her hair colour but that's the style i want, what should i say to the hair dresser?

First, you need to find a good, reputable hairdresser with plenty of experience. That's not a cut that just anyone can do - and if they mess it up, you could really end up with a disaster.


Second, absolutely print the pic, in color, and take it with you. You might want to ask them ahead of time if they frequently use a razor, and if they would for that style. They should - if they prefer not to use a razor for texturing, choose a different stylist.


Third, you said your hair is mid-length, notice that the girl in the pic's hair is down to her breast - your hair now should be at least an inch or two longer than the longest part of the style that you want - if it's not, the style will not be quite the same.


Also know that a style like that requires a lot of upkeep to maintain the look. Both with the coloring and the cut. Be ready to go in and have it freshened up about every 4 to 6 weeks depending on how fast your hair grows.


Last, but not least, ask to look at a color palette or samples of the colors available for your highlights. When you find one you like, ask specifically if it will come out like that on your hair. Not everyone's hair comes out exactly like the sample - and that can make a big difference.

Its always best to look till you find several pictures that are cuts you like. I would have either a back up pic or one one of a similar cut. I would bring a copy of all pictures that you like. And just let the hairdresser know that you like that those styles. Hope it helps.
Just bring the picture with you, and tell her you want the cut but not the color.
Probably best to print off a picture to help explain it.
